Blogging again

Today was the day that most Americans look forward to known as thanksgiving (turkey day)or maybe the day of the Superbowl either way you see it it involves great food and plenty of it. I can't think of too much in a calendar year that I look forward to then the day of the turkey. For some reason I can't think of much to say today, probably too much food lol but I will post more often as long as I have someone that will read my blog.

Tomorrow which is black Friday is going to be some crazy shit because of all the awesome sales that will be happening at the mall and surrounding area. I go into to work at 1 pm till 9 pm but my manager has to be there at 5 am till 10 pm... I would shoot myself lol. I have no idea why I have not posted any pictures yet considering I call myself a photographer. I'm going to post some pics up tomorrow I think. If anyone has any advice to make this blog more interesting I would love to hear it since I don't feel like it's interesting enough. please be as honest as you feel comfortable with.

Too many lenses? Is it possible?

So I have not published anything for about 19 days since it does not seem like I have any readers. I'm enjoying working at Ritz and am learning alot from everyone there. At my Japanese class today my teachers wife gave me her dads old 35mm Nikon EM and two lenses for it and a stray Minolta lens that doesn't seem to fit which I find to be strange considering it was in the same box. But it has been pretty crazy recently with me recieving lenses from people. Dan at Ritz gave me a 50mm 2.8 which is pretty cool and then yesterday I bought 55-200 with VR for $100 bucks which was a great deal and then today I got free lenses and a film camera so I'm definitely happy. I'm somewhat concerned that the lenses I got today are messed up or maybe/hopefully just need some serious cleaning.


I'm still trying to save up for my mactop but It Is proving to be really difficult to save money since I have been buying food in the mall for lunch almost everyday. I'm making an effort to bring food to work from now on but It gets boring and less tasty to do that all the time. I got to talk to Logan both yesterday and today which was really awesome and I'm really glad I still have that relationship with him. I'm trying to figure out how I can fit all my friends into my schedule for when they come back from college but It's proving to be hard because i work so much.

November has come

what happened to October? I learned some stuff today at Ritz, I'm on my way to photographic excellence! I have now decided that I want a either a large format or medium format camera I can't remember which one it is. These are the kind of cameras that look super old and have an accordion sort of look, you might recognize them as portrait cameras, the ones you put your head under. I have a 35mm camera that was not working until tonight when I accidentally fixed it. *sigh* I have the worst luck with 35mm cameras, they used to say I had a curse in my film photography class. I would always be over exposing, my camera would just stop working, it wouldn't be uncommon for me to leak light onto my undeveloped film, stuff like that.

Hallows Eve

So today I got to hand out candy to little kids in the mall while working at ritz.  I have not had to do any actual work yet at the camera shop.  Hmmm I found a photography magazine on a counter so I started to flip through it and I found a section on fine art nudes,  lets just say I didn't mind this section hehe.  I developed a roll of film I had sitting in my room for the last few months.  There is a process of developing called cross processing and it mixes/randomizes colors that I used for this roll and it ended up looking really cool, it gave a 60ies old color film look.  I'll post some examples sometime.  

I didn't end up trick-r-treating but I did have dinner with my friend Joshua and his friends.  He dressed up like a rockstar but ended up looking like a model lol.  We went back to his friends house after we ate and just hung out... I shot A LOT of pictures, especially of Joshua.  Joshua's girlfriend dyed his hair green which was pretty cool and definitely made him look more like a model.
